
In order to join OMTAAMB, you must submit an application to
the Portland
Rose Festival Association (PRFA). Basic qualifications are as follows:

Be over 18 years of age

Be able to play an instrument and to march (preferably at
the same time), or for auxiliary units, be able to dance,
twirl or swing a flag in time while marching

Note
to returning and prospective members: in order to be eligible for
band travel in the 25th anniversary (2009) you must be an active 2008
band member.
OMTAAMB Returning Members:
Applications were mailed in late October and
should be returned by the December 7, 2007 deadline.
Applications were sent to the address last given by the
band member. If you move or have moved, be sure to
include the Rose Festival Office (see address and phone number details above) in
your list of address change notifications. A phone call will do, but written
notice is preferred. You can also email your address change to the OMTAAMB

Member Selection Process:
Become a member! Applications are now available online or by contacting the Rose
Festival office at 503-227-2681. Applications for the 2008 Festival are due
January 1, 2008.

Application
Shortly after the submission deadline,
the Band's Director, and members of the OMTAAMB committee
will review the vacancies in the band (spots of people who have elected not to return, or did not return
their renewal applications). Then, invitations to audition are mailed to
applicants who may fill the vacant spots . The primary factors for inviting new members
to audition
are based on instruments needed and experience.
For auxiliary units, audition invites are given based on section vacancies and
applicant experience.
