Links

The Alamo City Community Marching Band of San Antonio, Texas. Jon Sanchez, San Antonio's ambassador to the OMTAAMB, is part adult marching band.


The Awesome Original Second Time Arounders Marching Band of St.Petersburg, Fla. The Rounders were the inspiration for the formation of OMTAAMB. The two bands have played together on several occasions, most recently at the 1998 Fiesta in San Antonio.


Boyertown Alumni Marching Unit

Sax player Nancy Ross plays with this group from Boyertown, Pa. when she is not playing for OMTAAMB. In September 2002, they marched in the Atlantic City Miss America Parade.


Everybody's Hometown Band

Trumpet player Chris Hertel invites you to come to Banks, Ore. and join this group rehearsing on Tuesday evenings at the high school in Banks. It's open to all players of all ability levels. They play jazz and standard concert band music. Visit their website at www.ehtb.org for more information.


Fiesta San Antonio
The OMTAAMB was honored to march in the Fiesta Flambeau Parade in 1998 and 2004.  We hope to go back many more times.


Get A Life Marching Band
This band plays for events around Portland each year and tends to travel once a year to participate in other parades or festivals. In 2009, the band had the honor of participating in the Presidential Inauguration Parade in Washington, DC.


Hillsboro Symphony Orchestra

Trumpet player Don Gottschalk plays with the Hillsboro Symphony Orchestra. It's a community type orchestra with about 50 members performing 3 times a year, taking the summers off. Click the link above for more information.


Marching. com

Marching.com was founded in 1996 as a source of information about marching band events. Over time the site has grown to include an extensive listing of links to marching bands and a resource directory of services and supplies useful to marching units.


Michael Allen Harrison
A Portland native and an extremely talented and gifted piano player and performer.  Michael Allen Harrison has performed with the band a number of times, including a guest performance at the 2004 Festival of Bands.


Mt. Hood Pops Orchestra

Trombonist Jon French performs and emcees for the Mt. Hood Pops Orchestra. They rehearse and perform at Mt. Hood Community College.  All musicians are welcome to join, especially anyone knowing a string player.  For questions, you can contact Jon at jonfrench@verizon.net or 503 666-5269.


Oregon Alumni Band 
Formerly the Fighting Duck Alumni Band


Oregon State University Alumni Band
This group plays for various activities (including home football games prior to the return of the student body each September). And you don't have to be an OSU grad to participate! All OMTAAMB Members are welcome to join the fun as "friends of the band". See the Alum Band web page for the latest schedule of events.


Power Pep Band

The Power Pep Band includes several current or former members of OMTAAMB, and has been recreating the college pep band experience for Portland audiences of all kinds for 10 years.  Focusing on rock and roll charts from all eras, the band practices once a week year-round and performs 20-25 gigs a year.  The band is actively recruiting new members, and OMT members are welcome to sit in on some practices any time to check out the group.  For contact info, please visit www.powerpepband.com.


Tualatin Valley Community Band

Sue Lamb plays trumpet in this full-complement community band. They rehearse weekly and perform approximately 7 times a year. In the summer, they rehearse at Cook Park on Tuesday nights and it's open to anyone to sit in and play, or just sit in the grass and enjoy the tunes while they practice. Vancouver Community Concert Band

Some OMTAAMB members are playing in this group whose goals include promoting the enjoyment of music in our community and helping to revitalize the American tradition of the town band. Westwinds Community Band

A number of OMTAAMB members play in this Vancouver, WA-based wind ensemble. Members of Westwinds like to have fun and play music - distinctly in that order. Rehearsal and quarterly performance schedule information available on their web site or by calling band director Loren Hascall at 360-254-7055.


The Northwest Association for Performing Arts (NWAPA) offers a competitive outlet during the fall and winter for marching band, color guard, indoor marching percussion and concert percussion units.
