Grand Floral Parade and lunch information
Hello Band!
Thank you all for a great few days. You have a few days to recover before we step off for the Grand Floral Parade. Here is the information we have so far. If anything changes, you know we will let you know. Be prepared for a sunny and warm day on Saturday. See you soon!
Grand Floral Parade, June 7th 9am, Assemble at SW Naito Prky and SW Harvey Milk
PLEASE pay attention that the parade route is different this year. DO NOT go to the Coliseum, you will be very lonely! The route and meeting point is EXACTLY the same as the Starlight Parade from Saturday.
Call time is 9am.
We are toward the beginning of the parade so we need to be prepared to step off by 10am.
Uniform is full uniform, hat, shirt, white pants, white shoes. Don’t forget your hat! If you want to wear a white long sleeve shirt under your uniform you can. Auxiliaries your leader will decide your uniform.
Rain is not predicted at this point, but if you need, you can wear a clear poncho or rain jacket.
You may decorate, but we ask to do it in a more “classy” way. Flowers, pins, etc. Do not block our logo or Carl’s Jr’s logo on both the hat and shirt.
You are responsible for your own water, we do not have water carriers for the whole band. Please plan for using a fanny pack for your personal needs.
No touching of any audience members. This includes high-fives or handing out any materials.
Do not overindulge on breakfast mimosas, we will pull you out and send you home. You are representing the band and our sponsor.
If you are asked to move locations in the parade block, it is nothing personal, we are simply trying to make the best band possible.
Most importantly enjoy and have a great parade.
Following the parade, the group will follow our dance leaders to Lincoln High School cafeteria. Once in the cafeteria, there will be box lunches and bottled water available to grab and sit and eat. This is a very informal event, not like full banquets as in the past. This is just a chance to have some food and enjoy some time with your band friends.
There are two sandwich options, turkey club and a caprese sandwich. Also in the box will be chips and a cookie. If you requested a special dietary meal, they will be off to the side and marked accordingly. ONLY grab these special meals if you made arrangements ahead of time.
Please let everyone in and eat, grab a box quickly and have a seat. There should be plenty of room for everyone. We will likely say a couple words (less than 5 minutes) summarizing the season, but no formal program or presentation. Just enjoy your time.
